Intergenerational Sharing Spaces next to the Canal Bruxelles - Charleroi

The Biestebroeck neighborhood adjacent to the site has a crucial lack of green and public spaces and intergenerational encounters between residents. It once maintained a very strong relationship with the Bruxelles-Charleroi Canal next to it for centuries, which was mostly broken following the closure of the islets and the intensification of traffic in the 20th century.

 

The aim of this project is to reconnect this district to its shores, by creating a set of public structures for meetings, exchanges, participation and leisure between users who have been isolated from Biestebroeck until now. These spaces will be based on the following thematics : nature in the city, youth, artistic creation and sport.
