Hippodrome in Boitsfort

The entry is the first sight, the first impression that visitors have of the site. This main and almost compulsory passage in order to access the site is therefore a fundamental element in the structural organization of the site. The building should retain its utilitarian function as a site information center and its history, while still having an original aesthetic appealing to passers-by. The structure replaces the current entrance and constitutes a gradual passage area for visitors to the site.

This material allows pure, modern graphic lines, in line with the chosen architectural structure. It is a light material, easy to install and to dismantle (therefore suitable for a temporary project), resistant to corrosion, having an advantageous economic cost. The floor in composite wood has the advantages of being rot-proof, non-flammable, unalterable and therefore safe, its maintenance. Maintenance and installation are easier and faster. It is also lighter than wood, and has environmental benefits by fighting against deforestation.

The structure therefore fits into the notion of the ephemeral through its ease of installation / removal. I also wanted its shape to appeal to passers-by so as to lead them to the site, while also making reference to the old porch with white and use of wood.
